Recent polling data from ABC News/Washington Post reveals that a significant majority of Americans disagree with President Trump’s ambitions, including a third term in office, controlling Canada, and acquiring Greenland.
Public Rejection of Trump’s Goals
An overwhelming 86 percent oppose any attempt by the United States to assert control over Canada, while 80 percent reject the idea of Trump serving beyond the constitutional limit of two terms. Additionally, 76 percent are against the notion of the U.S. taking over Greenland, and 66 percent disapprove of sending American citizens to foreign prisons.
Signs of Growing Skepticism
These survey results reflect a broader skepticism towards President Trump’s policy agenda. The consistent negative polling numbers, including a decline in his approval ratings, point towards a wavering confidence in his administration’s direction.

For example, 71 percent believe he is committed to sending convicted American criminals to foreign prisons, and 68 percent think he is dedicated to acquiring Greenland.
Even though constitutional constraints prevent a third term, 62 percent of the surveyed individuals perceive Trump’s interest in extending his presidency. Moreover, 53 percent trust his determination to control Canada.

Interestingly, supporters of President Trump exhibit varying degrees of approval for his key objectives. While 59 percent of those with a positive view of his leadership endorse the idea of sending criminals abroad, only 29 percent support the U.S. taking over Canada.
