Former President Bill Clinton is on the road to recovery after being discharged from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital following treatment for the flu.
“President Clinton was discharged earlier today after receiving care for the flu,” shared spokesperson Angel Ureña. “He and his family deeply appreciate the exceptional care provided and are grateful for the kind messages and well wishes he has received.”
Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, added, “He extends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all.”
At 78, Clinton has a history of medical procedures, including quadruple bypass surgery in 2005 and surgery for a partially collapsed lung in 2004.
